The Iowa State Fair 2005 - IHPA Honey Booth

Each year the Iowa State Fair is bringing in over a million visitors. Many of those visitors make their way to the IHPA Honey Booth. This is always a big opportunity to educate the public about the necessity of bees and all the wonderful products they make.

This year the submissions for the honey products display was great. It gives beekeepers a chance to show off their product and the diversity of products that bees make. A full display stand like this is what makes the IHPA booth such an outstanding exhibit.

The Iowa State Fair is the major event for the IHPA. Funds raised from sales at the Honey booth are used to support the IHPA projects throughout the year. And it takes a lot of work from a lot of people to keep everything running smoothly. The IHPA would like to thank everyone who helped by putting in their time and effort. Also thanks to all who submitted entries for judging, the great response makes for a very nice display of what bees and beekeeping have to offer. There really isn’t anything like the Iowa State Fair, and this year was a great one because of all the hard work from everyone.

(left to right) Donna and Mike Brahms and Bev Powell are ready at the IHPA Honey booth. Along with selling honey products they answer the many questions people have about bees and honey.

The Iowa State Fair is a great experience. And being held in the middle of August can be a pretty hot one as well. The honey lemonade stand is an ever popular stop. Lemonade on a hot summer day can really hit the spot, and what could be better than adding some honey?
