7th Annual Honey Festival
September 25, 2005

Indian Creek Nature Center is hosting its 7th Annual Honey Fest on Sunday, September 25 from 1-4 PM. This year the festival will take you back to 1905 when beekeeping was a common agricultural activity on most small Iowa farms. Come celebrate the honey harvest with games, crafts, food, music, bee education and fun for all ages. Honey Fest is sponsored by Alliant Energy. There is an admission fee. Nature Center members age 11 and older: $2.00, non-members age 11 and older: $3.00, all children 4-10 years: $1.00, under 4 years: free.

Southeast Iowa Beekeepers

The Southeast Iowa Beekeepers held their summer meeting July 31st at the Hillsboro Community Center. Thirteen attended. The agenda was viewing films on African bees, discussing feeders and a potluck supper.
